Nations League kick off time Scotland v Ukraine, TV channel, news

Almost four months after meeting in the World Cup qualifiers, Scotland host Ukraine at Hampden Park tonight in the first round of Nations League fixtures of the 2022/23 campaign.

Steve Clarke’s side saw their Qatar 2022 dreams dashed in this fixture as they were beaten 3-1 in June, but Ukraine’s subsequent loss to Wales means they won’t feature not at the tournament this winter either.

Visitors responded brilliantly to this disappointment. They are unbeaten in Group B1 and sit top of the table with seven points from three games – although a win for second-placed Scotland on six points would mean they would take first place.

Clarke and his team know exactly how important the Nations League can be as they qualified for Euro 2020 through the competition, and as Wednesday night’s contest is the first of two meetings between the pair during the international break , the Scots hope to win the group. remains to obtain results against Ukraine.

They will want to make up for their disappointing loss in June, a game in which Andy Robertson’s side weren’t at their best, and a win tonight just might help them exorcise some of those demons. has gathered everything you need to know about how to watch Scotland v Ukraine on TV and online.

Our prediction: Scotland – Ukraine

A win for Scotland tonight wouldn’t make up for their disappointment in World Cup qualification, but it could bring them closer to winning Group B1 and a chance to claim a place at the next Euros.

That said, Ukraine top the group for a reason and have been hugely impressive so far, while 21-year-old winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has one of Europe’s rising stars at his side.

Clarke’s side shouldn’t be lacking in motivation, but they are missing a host of players, including their captain through injury. Those involved will be desperate to produce a display that home support can be proud of this time around.

Our prediction: Scotland 2-1 Ukraine (10/1 at bet365)
